The Social Infrastructure Database (SID) integrates the public civic record into one georelational registry: the institutions that serve a community, the programs and services they run, and the facilities and staff behind them. Every VTCo product reads from this one record, so a figure carries the same source and the same "as of" date wherever it appears.

The SID is built on Canada's standard geography. A figure sits first at the dissemination area, the smallest unit the census publishes; VTCo aggregates dissemination areas into larger territories, and rolls each figure up through the census tract, the census subdivision and the census metropolitan area. A metric available at one level is aggregated to every other, with summary statistics computed at each, so a question can be asked of one neighbourhood or a whole region against the same record.

What the integration adds
The inputs are public. The work is the integration that aligns hundreds of separate publications into one record, resolves them to place and time, and keeps each figure traceable to its source. That integrated record is the asset; the publications behind it stay public, and anyone can read them.
What the record does not do
Surface, never score; coordinate, never prescribe. It surfaces evidence, and the decision stays with the institution. The record supports planning today across the civic domains; a standards-track review with the Digital Governance Council is underway; scoring and prescription are prohibited by design.
